HUSL OUTLaw Outlaw is an organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning law students, as well as their allies and friends.

Outlaw is one of the largest most respected and most active organizations of its kind in the nation. We serve as a social, support and political group and actively combat homophobia, heterosexism, and any discrimination based upon sexual orientation or gender identity inside and outside of the Law School.

Mission: - Support the HUSL LGBTQ community - Educate the HUSL community on LGBTQ issues - Provide social support for the HUSL LGBTQ community - Provide networking opportunities for the HUSL LGBTQ community - Encourage broad support for LGBTQ issues in the HUSL community at large

The Human Rights Campaign is accepting applications for the McCleary Law Fellowship for the 2017 Spring Semester at its headquarters in Washington, DC (1640 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036).

They are looking for a full-time fellow and are reaching out to local chapters to encourage pro-LGBT-minded law students to apply. Find more information on the fellowship at the link below.

"The study, which involved interviews with 250 transgender people, found that the majority of them reported social rejection related to their gender identity, as well as being the victim of violence. Good job, California! Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill last week that will require single-use bathrooms to be marked as being for all genders. NCTE applauds Gov. Brown and the California State Assembly for creating a law that makes using the bathroom safer for trans and non-binary people, and more efficient for everyone!

Outlaw: (1) host social events, (2) advocates for and on behalf of gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender, queer, and questioning law students, (3) provides resources regarding job opportunities in gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgender-friendly firms and organizations, and (4) provides resources for students to become involved with the local and national activist community. We work on national agenda issues and co- sponsor panel discussions that focus on the academic and professional concerns of these students.
