The Georgia Conference of Black Mayors, incorporated in 1986, is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit, non-political membership organization. Our major constituency starts with elected black mayors primarily located in rural Georgia, and by extension, the residents of the cities and towns they represent. More generally, the rural location, history and prospects of these jurisdictions deepen GCBM’s c

oncern about the quality of life for rural Georgia residents, regardless of race, ethnicity, or income status. GCBM is expanding the scope of services being provided to its members to better equip them to address common issues most local governments face including, but not limited to, the affordable housing, water/sewer infrastructure, energy efficient savings programs, economic development, small business development and job creation. To this end, GCBM is strategically aligning itself with a diverse set of partners on all levels – corporate, philanthropic, state, federal, local, education and community – to assist in the efforts of achieving this goal.
