🔥BURN BAN COUNTY-WIDE🔥

As of today, Harrison County, including the City of Marshall, will be under a Burn Ban. Harrison County's initial Burn Ban order will be an emergency 7 day Burn Ban, however that WILL BE EXTENDED to a 90 day Burn Ban during next Thursday Commissioner’s Court hearing. That ban will be in effect until further notice.

The Waskom Police Department was proud to be a part of this year's event and would like to thank everyone who came out and supported our students and families.

A special thank you goes to the City of Waskom and Waskom Independent School District for organizing this event and providing the planning, coordination, and supplies that made it possible. We are also grateful for our community partners, vendors, and volunteers who gave their time and support to help make the evening a success.

It was great to see our community come together to help students start the school year prepared and encouraged. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a memorable one.
We look forward to being a part of it again next year!

TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!!!! Friday, July 31st from 5-7 pm is our big Back to School Bash! Thank you to our wonderful Alderman and Mayor for allowing all of this to take place and all the hard work all City Officials and WISD staff that has worked so hard to make this possible!

💧 At 5 pm we will be doing a special dedication for the Pedraza brothers for a beautiful new feature to our splash pad in their honor donated by Water Play!

🚨 After the dedication, please start at the Community Center where you will find City Officials to receive your punch card for school aged children and backpacks! Please see below the stations!

1️⃣5PM splash pad dedication, if you are not participating, you can head over to the Community Center
2️⃣Everyone head over to the Community Center for punch cards, backpacks, haircuts, food trucks for dinner or a quick snack and registration.
3️⃣Go to the park for sno cones, Splash pad wrist bands, library, UHOW, dentist office, and other various tables under the pavilion.
4️⃣take a picture with our photo op and tag
5️⃣ enjoy a family field night, and stop back by the food trucks for dessert or a sweet drink before heading home!

🎒 since school supplies will be supplied, the City of Waskom will be passing out backpacks to Waskom ISD students and lunch boxes to elementary age children, first come first serve.

💇‍♂️ Haircuts will be taking place at no charge at the Community Center, first come first serve until the hairstylist are booked. Thank you Viviana Agundiz, local hair dresser volunteering your time!

🎾 Our brand new tennis and pickleball court will be open for some fun competition

🏐 a brand new volleyball net will be up to enjoy as well! Bring your best skills!

🛝2 new adult swings will be located around the pond for all ages to enjoy

🛻 our first food truck night!! We will have multiple food trucks set up in the community center parking lot for the whole family to enjoy! Seating will be available also, as well as corn hole and horseshoe for some fun family competition! Please see menus for each truck below! We hope to start making food truck night a monthly event, stay tuned!

Below are also some of the backpack and lunch boxes we will be passing out, and an example of the hygiene bags! Thank you to all who made this possible. It takes a community rallying together to make all this possible!
