The information on what the Village is contracted to pay has been on the monthly Treasurer's Finance Reports in January, February, March, April, May, June, and July. That number ($172,140.80) has not changed in any of those reports. They have all been approved by the entire board each month. That temporary contract was also approved by the entire board.
If you have any questions, it would be nice to have these conversations face to face. I'm extremely tired of this division. There's zero benefit for Waterford with any of this nonsense. I'm going to continue to work for Waterford and not against it. I hope all board members of both communities will do the same.

Both municipalities are aware of the temporary uneven pay towards the police department this year. The Town of Waterford and the Village of Waterford are working TOGETHER to form a joint police department and a boundary agreement. Right now the Town of Waterford and the Waterford Police Department are doing the right thing by taking care of our neighbors. The Village is the place where the children attend schools, where people work, eat, and play, where our friends from high school live. A lot of people still don't even know that the Town and Village are separate, which I find fantastic! I don't know what the past problems between the municipalities were and I don't care. We are working TOGETHER! Some people want to keep the Hatfield and McCoy feud going for no good reason, but we're not going to do that anymore. Most of us want to keep our rural Town rural and not have anymore encroachment or attempted takeover from the county. We only succeed if we work together.

Public Statement Regarding Pending Litigation

The Waterford Police Department is aware of a lawsuit recently filed against the Department concerning an open records request.

Because this matter involves pending litigation, the Department must be thoughtful about the information shared publicly. The attached letter provides additional background and explains the Department’s position regarding the request and the safety concerns considered when the decision was made.
