Welcome to Sarah - we can’t wait to have you!

The Village of Waterford is pleased to announce Sarah Weishar as its new Village Administrator.

Weishar brings over two decades of dedicated municipal management, fiscal leadership, and community engagement experience to Waterford. She most recently served as the Assistant Village Manager for the Village of Greendale, Wisconsin, a position she held for 14 years.

Throughout her tenure in Greendale, Weishar proved to be a versatile leader, notably serving as Acting Village Manager in the absence of the Village Manager, ensuring continuity of leadership and operations, as well as temporarily stepping in as the Acting Public Works Director. Her extensive background spans:

▪️Human Resources: As Assistant Village Manager, Weishar served as the Greendale’s Human Resources Director, overseeing employee benefits administration, personnel policies, recruitment and collective bargaining negotiations.

▪️Fiscal Management & Budgeting: Weishar has a deep history in municipal finance. In Greendale, she analyzed departmental requests and projected personnel costs to help shape the annual budget, while conducting vital cost-benefit and staffing analyses. Her financial acumen also includes past experience as a Fiscal and Management Analyst for Milwaukee County, where she reviewed operating and capital budget requests and assisted with bond issuances.

▪️Economic Development & Planning: Weishar assisted with Greendale's economic development initiatives, supporting redevelopment efforts and the creation of new Tax Increment Districts (TID) in the Southridge Mall area. Earlier in her career, as the Planning & Zoning Administrator/Deputy Treasurer for the Village of Richfield, she managed rapid suburban growth, coordinating residential subdivisions, business park lots, and major commercial developments like Cabela's.

▪️Community Communication: Recognizing that transparency builds public trust, Weishar has consistently championed clear communication. She spearheaded Greendale’s digital communication strategy—overseeing its website and social media platforms—and created a biweekly email update for residents as well as a New Resident Guide to to improve access to local government information, services, and resources

As a resident of the local area, Weishar steps into the role with an existing familiarity with the unique opportunities and challenges facing the greater Waterford area. She has expressed great enthusiasm for moving the Village Board's current initiatives forward, specifically noting her interest in addressing regional Fire/EMS services, establishing a boundary agreement with the Town of Waterford, and continuing efforts to modernize local ordinances and policies.

Weishar holds a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) with an emphasis in Municipal Management, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, both from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The Village of Waterford is excited to welcome Sarah Weishar and looks forward to her leadership in fostering a transparent, fiscally sound, and vibrant community.

Preliminary reports indicate that a tornado may have touched down earlier this evening just west of the Woodfield Condominiums, near the intersection of Highway 20/83 and County Highway W.

Village administration, the Department of Public Works (DPW), and emergency response teams are actively assessing the extent of the structural damage and widespread power outages.

As the storm system remains active, all residents are strictly urged to remain indoors. Please refrain from traveling near the Woodfield area to ensure that emergency vehicles and utility crews have unobstructed access to the damage site. Furthermore, treat all downed power lines as live and extremely dangerous; do not approach or attempt to move them.

We are committed to restoring essential services and ensuring public safety as quickly as possible. Further details regarding damage assessments and formal recovery steps will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.

Stay safe and remain vigilant.

• Strong support for public safety and local services

Hi Village of Waterford Friends,

I’m running to continue serving as one of your Village Trustees because I care deeply about our community and the people who call it home.

Serving in this role has been an honor, and I’m excited to keep working for our village.

My approach is simple: communicate clearly, collaborate respectfully, and listen first.

When we take the time to truly hear one another, we make better decisions and build a stronger community together.

Every resident deserves to feel heard and represented, and I strive to bring that perspective to every decision.

Through my background in healthcare, management, and small business ownership, I’ve developed the skills to lead, problem solve, and connect with people in a meaningful way.

I’m committed to being accessible, responsive, and a strong voice for our residents. I would truly appreciate your support on April 7th☑️

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend an incredibly impactful presentation here in Waterford by Wendy Smith of Washington County Anti-Trafficking Advocates and Emmy Meyers—CEO, Founder, survivor, and author.

They shared powerful insight into the very real and often overlooked issues of s*x trafficking and s*xtortion, including how these situations can impact our communities and, most importantly, our youth. All of our youth are at risk.

What stood out most was the importance of awareness, open conversations, and education. These are not distant issues—they are happening closer to home than many of us realize.

As a Village Trustee, I believe it’s critical that we continue to educate ourselves, support prevention efforts, and create safe spaces for dialogue. Protecting our community starts with being informed.

If you’re a parent, educator, or community member, I encourage you to take time to learn about these topics and talk with the young people in your life.

Thank you to Wendy and Emmy for your courage, advocacy, and the work you are doing to make a difference.e
