Good morning Waterloo. There is an emergency planned power outage at 11am today for 4th Street (west of Library Street) and Morrison Avenue area. Should last no longer than 30 minutes.

The reason for this is some equipment was damaged last week and is in need of urgent repair.

Good afternoon Waterloo! There are no boil orders issued for the city of Waterloo.

Yesterday evening, there were reports of a sign at a local gas station indicating that one was issued-this was a case of mistaken information. A employee of the gas station read a previous article about a boil order, thought it was current, and put up the sign.

Easy mistake, but glad they take these seriously.

❄️ Winter Weather Update – We’re Ready ❄️

With a winter storm in the forecast, our Public Works team has a game plan in place and will be out salting streets today to prepare for hazardous conditions.

To help crews work safely and efficiently, we ask residents to do their part:
🚗 Please keep cars off the streets when possible
🚜 Leave room for plows and salt trucks
🗑️ Keep trash cans, basketball hoops, and other obstacles out of the roadway

Working together helps us keep roads safer for everyone. You can review our full Snow Removal Policy here:

Thank you for your cooperation and patience—stay safe and warm! 💙❄️
