🚨 Golf Update 🚨
The Whitnall Park's golf course was vandalized this weekend. As it stands right now, the 13th and 14th greens are closed with a temporary greens cut in the fairway. The front nine and the other seven back nine greens are open for play.

Our amazing golf team is hard at work to get the course repaired and ready to go for next season. Unfortunately, that means that the greens will not be in good condition for the rest of fall 2020 and potentially into next spring 2021. Our goal is to get them healed for the 2021 summer season.

Our golf team has been working to make adjustments to our golf operations to follow the new guidelines in Governor Evers' extended Stay at Home Order and ensure the safety of all staff and golfers. Per Gov Evers' "safer at home" directive, golf carts will be AVAILABLE for rental starting May 5th, as single riders only, unless you live in the same household. Golf Cart Rental will be first come, first served, and dependent on course conditions. Contact the clubhouse directly 30-min prior to your tee time to ensure that you are able to rent a golf cart. Courses cannot guarantee golf cart rental at the time of reservation. Golf carts will be sanitized after each use.

We know you’re eager to golf, and we’re looking forward to seeing you back on the greens! We’re hard at work making adjustments to our golf operations that will ensure the safety of both staff and golfers.

As you’ve likely seen, this week Governor Evers announced an extension of the Stay at Home order until May 26. The new order lifts the closure of golf courses, giving us the opportunity to reopen – with social distancing restrictions – sooner rather than later, after the initial Safer at Home order expires on April 24th.

We expect to have some announcements early next week on the timing of golf course openings, together with details on how to book and pay for tee times.

So, while our turf professionals and golf staff work to prepare courses for your arrival, we ask that you help us by staying home and refrain from playing on the courses, which remain closed at this time. Your support now means that you will be out there playing a “hole” lot sooner!

Parks COVID-19 Response - Self Service Center

Milwaukee County Parks is taking immediate preventative steps to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), starting with the closure of Milwaukee County Parks public facilities, which now includes all golf courses, clubhouses and disc golf courses.

Details on the action Milwaukee County Parks is taking can be found at https://countyparksmke.com/coronavirus

Milwaukee County Parks public venues will close until further notice and public events, rentals, and programs scheduled to be held at these venues have also been canceled. Closed facilities include Mitchell Park Domes, Noyes Indoor Pool, Pulaski Indoor Pool, King Community Center, Kosciusko Community Center, Milwaukee County Sports Complex, Wehr Nature Center visitor center, Boerner Botanical Gardens Visitor Center, Wilson Recreation Center & Ice Arena, Wil-O-Way facilities at Grant and Underwood, and the Parks Administration Building.

Parks staff, whenever possible, will be telecommuting and will still be accessible by email, however, some areas will be operating with a limited team and may take longer than usual to respond.

“The steps we take now will determine of the outcome of this crisis not only tomorrow, but for the foreseeable future,” said Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele. “We can and will save lives when we follow common-sense best practices like social distancing. It is on each and every one of us to put the health and safety of ourselves and our neighbors above all else"

The health and safety of the county's residents and staff members are our highest priority. As such, we are closely monitoring developments around the Coronavir

Hello Wisconsin!! — PJKoenig Golf Photography PJKoenig Golf Photography - Golf Photos For Those Who Love The Game.

"Given it’s close proximity to Milwaukee, Brown Deer Park is a great addition to any Wisconsin trip as you head to explore the golf landscape. Or in my case, it’s a great last round before you jump on a plane yelling “Goodbye Wisconsin!”

Here's what golf writer Patrick Koenig had to say about his round at Brown Deer, as part of his golfing trip to play SE Wisconsin's top courses

Every time that I visit the great state of Wisconsin, I yell “Hello Wisconsin!” as an ode to Ashton Kutcher and “That 70’s Show.” Even though I never get to hang out with Ashton in Wisconsin, I always end up playing a ton of great golf. The timing for this visit was perfect as I had just r...
