On Langston Hughes’ heavenly birthday, we’re thinking of his poem “I, Too.”

Known as a ‘poet of the people,’ Hughes was a defining figure of the 1920’s Harlem Renaissance. His work centered the everyday lives of the Black working class, changing the game for Black representation in poetry.

As we kick off Black History Month today and take in everything going on in the country right now, this poem is an important reminder that we are all America.
