On Langston Hughesโ heavenly birthday, weโre thinking of his poem โI, Too.โ
Known as a โpoet of the people,โ Hughes was a defining figure of the 1920โs Harlem Renaissance. His work centered the everyday lives of the Black working class, changing the game for Black representation in poetry.
As we kick off Black History Month today and take in everything going on in the country right now, this poem is an important reminder that we are all America.
