In a tight labor market where skilled technicians are increasingly hard to find, one local individual has stopped searching the nation for resumes and started growing his own talent at the local airport.
During Tuesday’s Kiwanis Club meeting, Dennis Falasco, general manager of Omega Aircraft Services, shared the success of a unique partnership with Weatherford High School for the school’s aviation maintenance program. The initiative, which began four years ago and branched into maintenance recently, has moved out of the traditional classroom and into the Stafford Airport hangar, giving students a head start on potential careers in aerospace.
