OUR TOWN. OUR SCHOOL. OUR KIDS.

Whatever has to be done, needs to be done — NOW. We send our kids here. They play sports here. Their safety and future depend on us stepping up.

A major donation from the town could do wonders for our school. Instead of buying up land that sits unused, let’s invest in what matters most — our kids and their education.

Don’t wait for “someone else” to do it. Don’t be afraid to fight for change. A new field house and the improvements our school needs should be a top priority.

Mayor or not, I will stand and fight for this town. I don’t need a title to love this place or to fight for our kids’ future.

My kids play sports here. My godson plays sports here. This is personal.

Stand strong, Wedowee. Let’s stop being silent. Let’s stop being afraid. Let’s do what’s right.

🌟 Good Morning, Wedowee!

My name is Loretta Lynn Wright, and I humbly come to you today to ask for your vote on August 24th for Mayor of Wedowee.

For over 30 years, we’ve seen the same old things in our town — little to no change, no real effort to grow, and very little support for the people who make this community what it is.

✅ Our local businesses deserve more support and encouragement to thrive.
✅ Our seniors, aside from the amazing efforts of Sarah and her wonderful helpers, are too often overlooked.
✅ Our veterans — who have served and sacrificed for us all — are left to organize their own support through their group, gathering a few times a month at places like the Mexican restaurant, Lakeside, and Lynnie Bo’s to create their own resources.

It shouldn’t have to be this way.
We need true leadership that brings resources, opportunities, and care to every single citizen in our town and county — seniors, children, veterans, businesses, and families alike.

On August 26th , let’s make a change together.
Let’s move forward as a community that supports all of its people.
Let’s build the Wedowee we deserve.

🌟 Remember the 24th! 🌟
Come out to my Meet & Greet

I want to take this opportunity to share something that’s very close to my heart. If elected as mayor, I pledge to dedicate at least 75% of my salary to helping the children in our town who are in need.

✨ No child should ever go without their basic needs being met. ✨

We must treat every child like they’re our own — with love, care, and dignity. I’m not running for this position for the money; I’m running because this town has real needs that go far beyond catering to just the wealthy.

This is about building a community where every single child and family matters.

I hope you’ll join me on the 24th to talk about how we can make this vision a reality — and to celebrate another year of life with all of you.

7/17/25 Wedowee Paving Update

ALDOT advised they continue the wearing surface (asphalt/final layer) going south today, 7/17/25, and then head back on the outside land heading north. They will probably be close, if not through town this afternoon. It will require the outside lane be closed during while they are working. Also, parking in the outside lane will not be available, and crossing between the medians will not be permitted to allow for the work to be completed.

The end of the project is near!!

Please continue to be patient during the paving. It will be worth it when all the work is complete!!
