Local music and DIY culture is so fluid that I often compare it to a flowing creek. You can never put your foot in the same spot twice. That is why I strive to capture these unique snapshots of cultural history. 1867 Bar has been a refuge of DIY and local music for many years in and is going through some large changes. Attached to this post is a statement from the owner Kelsey Graves and photos I took documenting the last show at the venue with Kelsey as the owner.

"With a heavy but grateful heart, I want to share that this Friday will be my last Friday at 1867 Bar. I’m thankful to be finishing my time here, and while it’s bittersweet, I’m also excited to step into what comes next.
I opened this place as a 24 year old with an idea and a lot of learning and curveballs ahead. I leave as a fulfilled 34 year old, with a self respect I could only have dreamed of when I opened.
Thank you to every person who walked through these doors, who shared a drink, met friends, built relationships, and made memories within these walls. This bar became more than I ever imagined it could be.
Thank you to the brewers, distillers, bands, and artists for allowing me to showcase your work this past decade. I’m so thankful to have met you and for the friendships I’ve formed with each of you. You are all so amazingly talented I am blessed to have known you.
Thank you to my phenomenal staff for sticking with me through this process and seeing us to the end, I am forever grateful for you. My love for you is everlasting and I can’t wait for that giant jenga bonfire.
You all became my family. This place became my home.
I will always cherish the time spent here and carry with me every lesson learned, every friendship formed, and every moment that made 1867 what it was. Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping shape something truly special.
As I move forward, 1867 will also be moving forward. The bar will be changing names, a decision I made knowing how closely the name has been tied to me. I want to share that the new owners will be keeping it a music venue, something I know has been important to our community. They have wonderful plans to elevate the space and take it even further. I wish them nothing but success and continued love from this community.
Lastly, I invite you to my (very last minute) goodbye party this Friday, February 6th. My dear friends in Blowing Chunks, Phuzz, Weaving Shadows, and Pilot Light will be tearing up the stage.
I look forward to saying goodbye and celebrating one last time together.
