Thanks everyone who attended the Snowmobile Advisory Board meeting. Our club is funded again this year. We will be out as the snow allows improving and grooming the trails in the Stemilt Basin that we all enjoy.

We appreciate your continued support.

From WSSA Washington State Snowmobile Association:
The summer SMAC meeting is this weekend, specifically Friday evening and all day on Saturday. What is SMAC? Snowmobile Advisory Committee. Why should you care about the meeting? This is the annual budget meeting where last season's budget will be discussed, and more importantly, this season's budget will be set. It will likely be gruesome. The lack of snow last season caused many snowmobilers to skip registering their machines. Too bad as that registration from last winter is what funds this season. You can bet every sno-park that hasn't been opened ("maintained" is a more appropriate descriptor) the past two seasons will be closed again. But there will be other cuts for sure. Will it be the closing of more sno-parks? Or just a further decrease of grooming mileage and frequency? Tune in to find out!
While you are welcome to attend the meeting in person at the Wenatchee Valley Fire Department- Station 11, 206 Easy Street, Wenatchee, WA 98801, you can also attend virtually. Log in details below. Here is the latest agenda for the meeting:

Change of plans.
We are cancelling the barbeque for Saturday. I think our timing was bad with Father's day being the next day.

Jim will be headed to Ellensburg about 2pm for the Fish and Wild Life Meeting. They will be presenting their proposal to eliminate off road travel for all motorized vehicles, including snowmobiles.
Details are in an earlier post. Please attend if you can.

If you want to ride with me, I promise not play disco music on the way there.

Let me know.

The Department of Fish and Wildlife will be hosting two meetings next week to discuss changes to their motorized recreation rules. These changes would require DFW to actively designate any motorized route and prohibit off trail travel for all motorized recreation. This would effectively lock us out of most, if not all, boondocking, hill climbs and off trail exploring.

I will be going to the meeting in Ellensburg if anyone wants to ride with me.

Here are the details

Meetings will be held from 4-7 p.m. on June 11 and 12 at the following locations:

June 11: Armory Hall at the Kittitas Event Center
901 East 7th Avenue
Ellensburg, Washington 98926

June 12: Selah Civic Center (Main Room)
216 S 1st Street
Selah, Washington 98942

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is creating a Travel Management Plan for the Wenas and L.T. Murray wildlife areas in Kittitas and Yakima counties. WDFW seeks input from the public to better understand the route network and how those routes are used to inform future route design...

Please add our summer meeting to your calendar. June 20 at Faith Presbyterian. We will start at noon and plan to eat about 1pm. The club will provide burger and fixings, and the rest will be potluck. Bring your favorite side.

This meeting is open to all current members and interested people.
Hope to see you there. Please RSVP by June 15th so we can buy enough food.

Thank you!

Jim

Chelan County has published theproposed, updated land use plan for the Stemilt Basin. The link is here.

Here is your chance to shape this policy by commenting and advising. Please invest a little time to do that.

Thank you
