For May's Mental Health Awareness Month, we're sharing our favorite books to help kids better understand their feelings and how to express them appropriately. As we all know, understanding and managing emotions can be challenging at every age but this is often especially true for children and teens. Whether you have a preschooler struggling to name how she feels, a tween wrestling with newly complex emotions, or a teenager who needs to find ways to incorporate her emotional life into adult decision-making, parents can do a lot to help kids navigate their emotional world. But sometimes, it’s hard to know where to begin.

In our blog post, "Understanding The Way I Feel," we've shared a selection of excellent books that help kids name, tame, and manage their emotions, including special sections focused on sadness/depression, frustration/anger, fear/anxiety, and parenting for emotional awareness. These books for toddlers to teens are funny, poignant, and heartfelt, but most importantly, reassuring that no matter what you’re feeling, you can come out the other side.

To read our blog post, "Understanding The Way I Feel: 50 Mighty Girl Books About Managing Emotions," visit https://www.amightygirl.com/blog?p=11449

For books to help kids who may be struggling with worry or anxiety during this stressful time, we've shared more recommendations for children, teens, and parents in our blog post "25 Books to Help Kids Overcome Anxiety, Worry, and Fear" at https://www.amightygirl.com/blog?p=22612

As always, if you purchase books or other items that you discover on A Mighty Girl via the "Buy from Bookshop" and "Buy from Amazon" links found in this blog post and on every product page, we receive a small commission at no cost to you, which allows us to maintain our website and continue to provide girl-empowering resources like this page. We appreciate your support!
