Farmer Daughter rant-(please read) I have worked with my dad over the summer to help with the family farm. I am 5th generation and have been super lucky to get time with my Dad and to learn all he knows about a place he truly loves. When you shop at your farmers markets please do me a solid... Thank the farmers that work so hard to bring you produce. Plans are set in motion before the snow melts and things are planted as early as March and April. Those farmers tend to the plants and fields with hand weeding, tilling and fertilizers to help those plants produce food. Then those farmers pick, wash and prepare items for sale. Most have a full time job or a job where they get insurance so they can bring you produce. They spend time setting up the stall, taking down the stall and working into the evening to put things away to start all over again for the next week. A ton of thought, love and patience goes into that food. I would appreciate it (and so would those farmers ;-))
Great day at the West Allis Farmers Market. Come down and see us for some fresh fruits and vegetables
