The CHAD Youth Program

The CHAD Youth Program The CHAD Youth Program is a program for "boys with promise" operated by SCC students, graduates, and Criminal Justice Program Coordinator.

CHAD (Choosing Healthy Alternatives to Delinquency) is a youth program created by SCC's Criminal Justice instructor and students. It is for boys with promise, ages 9-14 y/o. It is a mentoring program in which we introduce the boys to new, age appropriate, recreational activities, community service and support.

The boys had a great time driving golf balls at Spirot Hollow today...until a man next to us called them "f #@*ing idiots because one of their golf clubs flew out of their hands and they were "tearing up the ground and should be fined." He went on to say "he has been playing golf since he was a kid......" How fortunate for him. I am proud of the boys for not responding back (they let me have the pleasure). It took maturity on their part to handle this situation. It made us all sad and mad though.
