I love the nonprofit sector so much. I live and breathe it every day.

So when one of our own faces an absolutely desperate need for funding, assistance and grace - our region shows up time and time again.

However, all of these organizations who are doing the heavy lifting in providing services for our community that the government can't or won't fund, cannot function forever in emergency mode.

It's time we take a hard look at the amount of weight we are putting on the shoulders of these incredible nonprofits, and begin a seriously conversation to fund them properly with our time, talent and treasure.
