Her priorities include social service delivery, climate-change mitigation strategies, and emergency resiliency efforts; creating more affordable housing and resources for renters; enhancing the streetscape for improved pedestrian and cycling experiences while reducing vehicle dependency; and community building and policy implementation to ensure an inclusive community for all.

The love people have for West Hollywood is unlike any other. I am incredibly grateful for the community that gathered and all the support shown through this transition in leadership. I’m looking forward to the year ahead, serving as Vice Mayor and working together with the Council and the leadership of our new Mayor John Erickson in service of the people of West Hollywood and throughout this great region.

And big, big shoutout to Santa Monica Councilmember Gleam Davis for the honor of swearing me in! 🙌

The City of West Hollywood presents its annual celebration for Harvey Milk Day and start of the WeHo Pride Arts Festival with the first annual José Sarria Drag Pageant, organized by HIT and sponsored by the Imperial Court. José Sarria was the first openly gay person to run for office in California and helped pave the way for Harvey Milk’s successful run for office.

In addition to the Drag Pageant, there will be a voter registration table, a Harvey Milk photo opportunity, and custom typewriter poetry provided by Pride Poets, an arts grantee.

There are many ways to enjoy West Hollywood's Art on the Outside this May!

From May 15, 2023 through April 30, 2024, Artist Britt Westveer will debut a 10x20 wheatpasted mural on City Hall. The artwork is a collection of three large, printed posters featuring digital collages made from found imagery and the artist’s own archives depicting the long history of diverse LGBTQIA+ people who have “always been here.”

Stop by City Hall at 8300 Santa Monica Boulevard to check it out!
