The Czech company Gumotex (and others like Refoplast in Central Europe) have pioneered the recycling of scrap tires into noise barriers used along highways and urban roads.

These barriers are made using rubber granulate, derived from old tires, mixed with polymers or resins to create panels that reduce traffic noise effectively.

Such projects not only help mitigate noise pollution but also significantly reduce landfill waste.

While the exact number "300 million tires" is a large claim, it likely refers to cumulative efforts over years or globally across similar recycling projects.

Considering that over 1 billion tires are discarded worldwide annually, and Europe recycles millions per year, the figure is plausible when scaled.

These barriers have other benefits too:

- Weather resistance
- Long lifespan
- Sound absorption up to 30 decibels
- Aesthetic customization
