End HIV PBC

End HIV PBC Working to end the HIV epidemic in Palm Beach County through community engagement and education.

End HIV PBC is the official page for Palm Beach County’s Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) initiative, which is part of a national strategy that aims to end the HIV epidemic in the United States by 2030. The initiative aims to reduce new HIV infections by 75% by 2025, and 90% by 2030. The first five years of EHE, called Phase 1, is focused on 57 priority jurisdictions, including Palm Beach Co

unty, where 50% of the nation’s new HIV infections occurred in 2016 and 2017. The County’s EHE initiative is focused on community engagement and education.

Celebrate Life. Honor Resilience. Raise Awareness.

For more than four decades, HIV long-term survivors have demonstrated extraordinary resilience, courage and strength in the face of challenges many could never imagine. Their stories remind us how far we have come in the fight against HIV, while also highlighting the work that remains to eliminate stigma, expand access to care and support those impacted by HIV in our communities.

That is why HIV Elimination Services (HIVES) is proud to join Florida Department of Health (DOH), Triple H Ministries Heart Health Healing Ministries and community partners this Friday, June 5, for HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day ... a special community event dedicated to honoring survivors, raising awareness, sharing education and celebrating life. Our very own Council Members Dr Rosie Hayes and Dr Sandra Anderson will be a part of the amazing celebration - we're excited to support everyone there!

As part of our CTRL-HALT-DEL initiative, we believe that every conversation, every connection and every act of compassion helps move our community closer to a future where everyone has access to the support, care and understanding they deserve.

CTRL: Control Risks - Empowering individuals to take charge of their health by reducing risks of HIV.

HALT: Halt the Spread - Stopping the spread of HIV through care and treatment for persons with HIV.

DEL: Delete Stigma - Erasing HIV stigma and disparities in health outcomes.

Join us for an afternoon of inspiration, education, fellowship, food, entertainment, giveaways and community connection as we celebrate the lives and contributions of long-term survivors.

Today, May 18th, is HIV Vaccine Awareness Day … get ready! get involved! get tested! get vaxx'd!

We recognize and thank the scientists, health professionals, volunteers and community members working toward one goal: a safe and effective HIV vaccine.

We’ve made meaningful progress in HIV prevention, with tools that help reduce transmission and support healthier lives. But the work is not done.

Nearly 38,000 new HIV infections still occur each year in the United States.

READ THAT AGAIN.

In Palm Beach County, HIV continues to impact our community in very real ways. The majority of people living with HIV are over the age of 50, and disparities persist across race, ethnicity, and geography, particularly within Black and Haitian communities and among men who have s*x with men. New diagnoses and gaps in care remain a concern, reinforcing the need for continued prevention, testing and engagement efforts. While the scientists work toward long-term solutions like a vaccine, our focus locally remains clear: reaching the communities most impacted and ensuring access to the care and support needed to live healthy lives.

Millions of people worldwide are living with HIV
A vaccine remains one of the most critical tools needed to end the HIV epidemic
Research continues, and every study, every trial, and every participant brings us closer.

While we work toward that future, we also continue to focus on what we can do right now:
CTRL :: Control Risks
HALT :: Halt the Spread
DEL :: Delete Stigma

Prevention works. Testing matters. Treatment saves lives.
