On May 29, I had the pleasure of attending and speaking at HEI Florida's "Navigating Success from K-12 to College" event at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus. I was honored to welcome families and share a little about my role as a Palm Beach County Commissioner and the resources county government provides to our community.

Thank you to HEI Florida CEO Yulimar Quintero Trumbo for the invitation and for her dedication to empowering Hispanic and Latino families. It was also a pleasure meeting Patricia Ordonez-Feliciano from the The School District of Palm Beach County. I look forward to seeing this program continue to grow and make a lasting impact on families across our county.

On May 28, I had the pleasure of attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Nomade Boca Raton. Thank you to the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce for the invitation and for supporting the growth of our local business community.

Inspired by the artistry and culinary traditions of Morocco, Tulum, and the Mediterranean, Nomade Boca Raton, led by Chef Zoli Kovacs, brings a unique dining experience to our community located at 6030 SW 18th Street in Boca Raton.

It was wonderful to see so many members of the Boca Chamber and community leaders come together to celebrate this exciting new addition to Palm Beach County. Wishing the entire Nomade team much success!

On May 26, I participated in the first-ever 2026 Get Your Green On Bus Tour in recognition of Mental Health and Trauma-Informed Awareness Month. A sincere thank you to Elisa Cramer, Director of the Palm Beach County Youth Services Department, and Adam Davis, Assistant Director, for organizing this meaningful and impactful tour.

The bus tour visited several outstanding community organizations and sites, including the Grey Team, Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County, Jeff Industries, Inc., The Recovery Community HUB of Palm Beach County, and the Youth Services Department’s Highridge Family Center.

I stopped by Grey Team, the first site on the tour, to greet participants. Having visited many times before, it was great to once again see the important work being done to support veterans through personalized wellness programs, cutting-edge therapies, and a strong sense of community that helps individuals rebuild strength, restore balance, and reclaim their purpose. Thank you to David Miles Kirkland for once again providing an informative tour of the facility.

It was also wonderful to see Tammy Fields, Seth Bernstein, Katherine Murphy, and many other dedicated community members participating in the day’s events.

On Memorial Day, I attended the VFW Post 10556 - Boca Raton, FL Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Park in Boca Raton. Thank you once again to Barry Goldin for the invitation to speak at this meaningful and patriotic event.

I have attended this ceremony for multiple years, and I was especially happy to see the largest crowd yet gathered to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. This year’s event was even more special as we also recognized the 250th anniversary of the United States and reflected on the freedoms and opportunities made possible through the service of generations of Americans.

It was wonderful to see Commissioner Maria Sachs and her grandson, Leonardo, proudly lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Thank you to the veterans, military families, community leaders, and residents who came together for this important day of remembrance. May we always remember and honor those who gave their lives defending our freedoms and protecting our nation

Today, we commemorate D-Day and honor the courage and sacrifice of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, during one of the most pivotal moments in history. We remember the service members whose bravery and determination helped secure freedom for future generations, and we pay tribute to all who served during World War II. Their legacy of courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

On May 20, I was pleased to attend the quarterly luncheon hosted by the Business Development Board of the Palm Beaches at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. Thank you to event sponsor Bank of America.

As always, it was a pleasure to hear from Kelly Smallridge, whose leadership continues to strengthen Palm Beach County's economic future. I also appreciated the remarks shared throughout the program by BDB Chairman J. Michael Prince. The panel discussion, moderated by Fabiola Brumley, provided valuable insights into the opportunities ahead for some of our region's leading companies:

-Mary Anne Cannon of Pratt & Whitney
-Barry Miller of Voloridge Investment Management
-Alexander "Sandy" Spaulding of Blue Ops

I always look forward to attending these quarterly luncheons. They provide an excellent opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders, learn about emerging trends, and celebrate the innovation and investment that continue to make Palm Beach County a premier destination for business growth.

On May 20, I attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the completed Coleman Park Development. What made this moment especially meaningful was that I also attended the groundbreaking back in February 2023 (pictured below), making it incredibly rewarding to see this project come full circle.

This development brings 43 new affordable housing units to the Coleman Park neighborhood along Tamarind Avenue in West Palm Beach, providing quality housing opportunities for low-income families, seniors, and individuals with special needs.

It was inspiring to celebrate alongside so many community leaders and partners, including Mayor Keith James, State Senator Bobby Powell, Eric Kelly, Axel Miranda, Carlos Serrano, representatives from Quantum Foundation, Lost Tree Village Charitable Foundation, Third Federal Savings & Loan, Neighborhood Renaissance, Inc., the Coleman Park Neighborhood Association, residents, and many others who helped make this vision a reality.
