Questions we are asking regarding property tax reform. What is the potential fiscal impact in PBC? Can assure you County staff have already been working on this scenerio. We are, but need the breakdown of property tax revenue by type so can have real data to work from vs talking points. Until that is done, you will only see emotionally driven pieces by both sides. We want to see exactly what the County fiscal shortfall will be, and only then can look at ways to mitigate changes.

🏠 BREAKING: DeSantis Calls Special Session on Property Tax Relief

Gov. Ron DeSantis is calling lawmakers back to the Capitol Monday for a special session to put a constitutional amendment on the November ballot that could eliminate property taxes for most Florida homeowners.

Key Details: 🏡 Initial homestead exemption would increase to $250,000 📊 Would eliminate property taxes for ~60% of homesteaded homeowners

Democrats warn this could be "devastating" to local governments, while Republicans say it's time for major tax relief.

The irony. Few realize tax payers spend $4,500,000 for an office staff of 30 people withing Office of Inspector General for PBC. In the past 5 years they have not investigated a single allocation has has lead to the removal of public employee or criminal charges. So do we have 10,000 truly honest public sector employees? Or are they literally doing nothing? We have sent in over 25 detailed complaints without response.

Abuse in govt includes misuse of authority or position for personal interest. Examples: creating unnecessary overtime, misusing the official’s position.

We wasted $250,000,000 already on new baseball stadiums used for 8 weeks of the year and only last 10 yrs between upgrades or threats of teams leaving. We have $100,000,000 a year in bed tax we waste already. Get your act together and stop putting constituents in debt.

Anyone remember when Jupiter was lobbying to save $10m a year by creating own fire department vs outsourcing and then telling constituents their taxes would actually increase? Us either.

Jupiter is set to launch its own fire department on Oct. 1, but a proposed per-property fee to help fund it is drawing criticism from residents and even the mayor.
