General information
The Wethersfield Police Department was founded in 1926. William Simpson became the official Chief of Police in 1936. Thomas Sullivan became Chief in 1946. T. William Knapp was appointed Chief in 1974. John Karangekis became Chief in 1990 and James Cetran in 2003. There are 65 employees, not counting school crossing guards. We are both Nationally and State accredited.
