🚨Seymour Police Department Public Safety Alert

With a heat wave approaching, we want to remind everyone:

Never leave children or pets in a vehicle — even for a few minutes.
On hot days, the temperature inside a car can rise to over 120°F in just minutes, even with the windows cracked. This can lead to serious injury, heatstroke, or death.

âś… Take them with you. Every time.

Your child or pet is depending on you. If you see a child or pet left alone in a hot vehicle, call 911 immediately.

Stay safe and beat the heat responsibly.

The Waterbury Police Department is offering a $200 reward for anonymous tips that lead to an arrest and/or the seizure of illegal ATVs, and dirt bikes being operated on city streets or in parks.

Illegal operation of these vehicles creates serious safety risks for pedestrians, motorists, and the riders themselves.

All tips remain 100% anonymous.
Call: 203-755-1234

In case of an emergency, call 911.

Connecticut law requires ATVs operated in the state to be registered with the DMV, unless they are only being driven on property owned or leased by the ATV owner. A registered ATV may only cross a public roadway in very limited circumstances and cannot be used to travel along public streets.

June is accessible parking awareness month.

Please be considerate and do not park in the hash marks or accessible parking areas without a permit. Your compliance allows others to safely navigate congested parking areas and access locations that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Fines are $250 for a first-time offense. By working in partnership, we can ensure that all residents can enjoy all the wonderful locations that Simsbury has to offer.

Today we honor those who sacrifice and service our nation.

This Memorial Day, the members of the North Haven Police Department pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is not simply a celebration or a “happy” holiday; it is a solemn day of remembrance for those who gave their lives defending our freedoms. As we enjoy the freedoms we have today, we must remember they came at a great price.

We encourage our community to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our fallen heroes and the families they left behind. Their courage and service will never be forgotten.
