The Mayor, his staff, and the DPW is working around the clock to clear us out from this storm. Thank you, Mayor Michael Molisse.
2/24 9am Morning Update from Mayor Molisse:
DPW crews and contractors worked in tandem throughout the night to widen roads. This work will continue throughout the day today.
The parking ban is still in effect on all Weymouth roads to ensure our crews have access to continue clearing our streets. The State of Emergency also remains in effect for the Town of Weymouth.
Power has been restored to most of our residents. We will be updating the status of trash pickup for tomorrow once we confirm with EZ Disposal. We hope to have that information out to you later today.
Town offices, libraries, and schools are closed and all activities are cancelled today. However, please rest assured that our Command Center at DPW is fully staffed, and we are here for our residents.
This evening at 7pm, the DPW will begin the clearing of sidewalks and Town Squares such as Weymouth Landing, Jackson Square, Central Square, and Columbian Square.
Snow removal will be a work in progress. My team and I will be having a group meeting this afternoon to assess where we are and make any needed changes.
Crews have been working around the clock, and I appreciate everyoneβs patience as we work through this clearing process. It takes time!
Again, we owe a large thank you to our DPW crews & staff, Police & Fire, Emergency Management, South Shore Hospital EMS, Public Health Nursing staff, the Red Cross staff at our warming center, and the team from National Grid. With the dedication and support of all these professionals, we are where we are today.
Thank you, and continue to be Weymouth Strong!
