Last Friday, September 18, Muslim civic organizations, masajid, and community partners across the country came together for National Muslim Voter Registration Day, led by MPower Change as part of the campaign.

This national nonpartisan effort helps increase civic engagement through voter registration, education, and mobilization. This year, more than 100 sites across 18 states took part. 🗳️

Proud to stand with Congresswoman Ramirez on a bold new vision of community safety.

American Muslims know all too well the impact of the Department of Homeland Security: surveillance, secret lists, informants in our mosques, and families treated as suspects. That same harm reaches our streets, our courthouses, and our polling places.

Our neighbors are not a security risk and safety means safety for everyone.

Dismantle DHS. Abolish ICE. Place the department under real oversight. Invest in the things that matter.

The Muslim Civic Coalition is proud to support this legislation. Thank you, Congresswoman Delia Ramirez.

I heard from el pueblo and I’m ready to reimagine our community safety, dismantle DHS, and abolish ICE and CBP.

Today, I announced the Reimagining Safety Act – landmark legislation that would create a new human- and community-centered federal department, repeal the authorities that give the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) its power, and redirect all funds from DHS to programs that working families rely on.

On Sept. 21, we remember Wadee AlFayoumi, a 6-year-old Palestinian American Muslim child murdered in a hate crime. Let’s come together to honor his life and say: All children deserve peace, including Palestinian children.
