Dear Tenants, Prospects and Colleagues:

Karademas Management is committed to doing our part to minimize the spread of Covid 19 in order to “flatten the curve” of this outbreak so that it may be manageable by our healthcare system. Towards this end, although we are still here and available to address your needs, we are asking that we all follow the government directives to limit contact by adhering to the following:

To limit interactions, we are locking our office door. We are here and available by phone, email or by appointment (for matters that cannot be handled remotely).
To limit unnecessary social contact, effective immediately, managers will not accept ANY PAYMENTS in the rental office. Tenants should pay through the resident or portal or mail payments to the corporate office. This information was sent out in an email about a week ago. Call or email the manager if you do not have it.
Our maintenance staff is here for work orders. Please call or email the manager to request work done. Management reserves the right to delay non-urgent repairs if needed to minimize contact. Maintenance staff has been advised to wash hands prior to entering a tenant’s unit and to maintain a 6 foot distance from others.

We will continue to monitor developments throughout each day and will respond accordingly with additional communications regarding new developments or governmental directives.

Bay Village Cats of the Month for May. Elsa and Nola! Hi, we’re Elsa and Nola! You can tell us apart by the white patch on Elsa’s chest (right). You may have seen us outside eating grass and soaking up the sun when it’s nice out. We were both adopted but at separate times, we love and fight each other like sisters do! Elsa loves to drink milk and beg for food while Nola likes to help mom get ready in the bathroom. Say hi to us if you see us outside, we’re friendly!

Bay Village Dog of the Month for May. Meet Cody! I’m Cody! Born in Alabama, I was rescued as a puppy and sent to the Ozaukee County Humane Society where I found my mom and dad. I LOVE the snow; I wouldn’t make a good southern dog. I am naturally athletic and love to play and learn. Recently, I’ve become a protective guard dog as my parents brought me home a baby brother for Thanksgiving. Sorry neighbors - I love my Little Turkey so much that I have to stand watch! I’m always looking for play dates with dogs and cats. Just stay away from my brother; he’s mine :)

Bay Village Dog and Cat of the month for April!

Dog: Ted is well known at Bay Village, a darling Shih Tzu/Bichon Frise. He is very friendly and playful.

Cat: Jellybean is a fun and energetic 2-year-old tabby cat. His favorite toys are his cat dancer and the laser pointer. He loves to run up and down the stairs all day long, and he never seems to run out of energy! His favorite activity is sitting on his perch and looking outside the window at all the birds and squirrels in Bay Village.

Meet Mackie! Bay Village Townhomes Pet of the Month for March. Mackie is a white Labrador Retriever adopted by Craig and Colleen Martin from a non-profit dog rescue. Adopting from rescue is a great way to go to give these guys in need a good home. Mackie is kind of a mascot around here making friends everywhere he goes and has a million dollar smile. Demographics
Today, the Village of Whitefish Bay is a predominantly single family residential community covering an area of 2.4 square miles, with a population of approximately 14,000 people. The Village is home to over 4,800 residential properties and over 100 commercial properties.

There are approximately 330 businesses located within the Village. There are several schools within the Village including a public and private high school. The Village is bordered on the south by the Village of Shorewood and on the west by the City of Glendale. To the north lays the Village of Fox Point and to the east are the shores of Lake Michigan.

History
Early Residents
Early inhabitants of Whitefish Bay included Native Americans, fishermen, and farmers. Prior to the turn of the century, Whitefish Bay became a popular destination for summer visitors from across the Midwest.

Turn of the Century Resort
In 1889, Captain Frederick Pabst, one of Milwaukee's beer barons, spent $30,000 to take advantage of Whitefish Bay's unique location in an area north of what is now Henry Clay Street, east of Lake Drive and South of Silver Spring Drive to build a resort.

As many as 10,000 people would visit the resort on a summer day, traveling by horse and buggy, railroad, trolley, or excursion steamer. They came to enjoy the scenic view, to ride the Ferris wheel, attend daily concerts (double concerts on Sunday), rent rowboats, watch outdoor movies, and dine on whitefish netted daily in the Bay.

The resort popularity faded in 1914, and the park closed. In 1915, the land was subdivided into 17 residential lots, and today 13 homes are located on the former resort shoreline property.

Emphasis on Education
Whitefish Bay's emphasis on education began when farmers in the area demanded local schooling for children living in the Bay. In the Spring of 1892, the 300+ residents organized their own government and school system independent of the Town of Milwaukee.

After a duly organized election on June 7, 1892, the area was incorporated and became the Village of Whitefish Bay. A school was built on a triangle of land now know as Old Schoolhouse Park, across from today's public library.
