Eight years later, our community showed up in a big way—more than doubling turnout and electing a City Council that truly reflects the Whittier of today and tomorrow.

CITY COUNCIL VOTED TO REMOVE 178 TREES AT PARNELL PARK. The City Council decided to remove 178 healthy trees at Parnell Park to construct four soccer fields, despite community opposition. A public records request revealed that no one in the community asked for soccer fields. Although the play area will be remodeled, the park will lack shade, and the project will cost $22 million, transforming the park into a soccer complex. See this link for an explanation.

The California Immigrant Policy Center is hiring paid phone bankers to support Get Out The Vote efforts for the April 14th Whittier City election.
