HE IS RISEN!

"Christians around the world celebrate Jesus of Nazareth’s resurrection on Easter Sunday, almost 2,000 years after he died and was raised form the dead just three days later....

Through his crucifixion, Jesus paid our sin debt. And like Christ, we too can conquer the death that awaits us to be “born again” in Him – if we willingly accept his sacrifice on our account and repent of our rebellion against God.

As the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 6:8-9, “Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him.”

Nor must death have dominion over us. That’s why the death and resurrection is so meaningful to those who believe. Not only has Jesus risen from the clutches of the grave, but he offers to deliver us from its grip as well, to worship Him eternally in paradise.

So when hearing “He is risen” during Easter, remember it’s more than just a simple catchphrase. It’s an encapsulation of all that Christians believe God offers us – all of us – through his Son.

And that’s a cause for celebration."

Have a Blessed Resurrection Sunday, everyone.

Case study of the rank corruption leading the KS Governor and her lawmakers to prioritize soda lobbyists over kids is showcased by Kansas Governor Laura Kelly.

Laura issued a waiver to remove soda from food stamps but then PULLED IT after pressure from lobbyists.

MAHA moms should contact her about her flip-flop.

Her number is 785-296-3232.

Kansas deserves better than Laura Kelly's ineptitude.

Looking forward to Overriding this Veto ASAP!

The abrupt flip-flop is the latest example of strange behavior following a lobbying campaign by the soda and candy industries aimed at countering bipartisan support for reforming food stamps to reduce obesity-related health issues among the poor.

"The Power Resides in the People of Kansas, Not an Elite Group of Lawyers"

Kansans are one step closer to reclaiming their voice in their state judicial
system. Today, the Kansas House passed SCR 1611 on a vote of 84-40. If passed by the voters, this constitutional amendment would replace the outdated, insider system of appointing Supreme Court justices with the democratic process of direct elections by the people.

Kansas stands alone in the nation with this insider process- a commission stacked with attorneys that hold sway over who sits on our state's highest court. Set to be on the 2026 ballot, this constitutional amendment would empower voters to choose justices for six-year terms, through staggered elections beginning in 2028. By eliminating the insular Supreme Court Nominating Commission, SCR 1611 ensures a more transparent and democratic process, giving Kansans a voice.

Kansas House of Representatives Leadership issued the following statement:

“As we’ve traveled across Kansas listening to our communities, Kansans have told us they want to know more about who serves on Kansas’ highest court—a Supreme Court chosen by them, not handed down by an outdated, insider commission. SCR 1611 delivers just that, ending Kansas’ days as the only state with this system. This is the people’s victory, and we’re proud to stand with them as they reclaim their voice at the ballot box.”

Our hearts are breaking for so many 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.

Please join Talia and me and pray for the victims and their families of the tragic mid-air collision involving a plane from Wichita this Kansas Day. We pray the Lord gives the first responders at Reagan Airport in D.C. the strength and wisdom they need to save lives.

American Airlines has confirmed that there were 60 passengers and four crew members on tonight's flight from ICT to DCA. Also, the Army confirmed the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, carrying three Soldiers, was from Bravo Company, 12th Aviation Battalion, out of Davison Army Airfield on Fort Belvoir and was conducting a training flight.

The Incident Family Support Team is being established at the Eisenhower Airport terminal in Wichita.and they have provided a phone number for individuals who believe they may have loved ones on board AA 5342. That number is 800-679-8215.

My heart goes out to all who are affected by this tragedy. Our office will continue to monitor the unfolding events and is available to help any Kansans who may need assistance.

Our prayers are most-needed now.

Friends-

Yesterday, the 2025-2026 Kansas Legislature convened to be sworn in and conduct the business of the People.

"...so help me God."

It was an honor to again take the Oath of Office and continue serving as your voice in Topeka.

I do not take lightly the trust you have emplaced in me to solemnly execute my responsibility to uphold and protect our Kansas and U.S. Constitutions.

Once again, I am deeply honored by the opportunity to represent Northeast Wichita's 85th House District in Topeka.

Please allow me to take a minute to update you on a few things on my end for our 3rd term.

I've been privileged to be named Chairman of the important and dynamic House Legislative Modernization Committee.

I've also been re-appointed to the House Committee on Commerce, Labor & Economic Development (CLED), the House Committee on Energy, Utilities, & Telecommunications, the House Committee on Insurance, and will also now serve as a member of the House Committee on Elections.

Our House Speaker Dan Hawkins has also re-appointed me to the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules and Regulations (JCARR) as well as start service on the Joint Committee on Information Technology (JCIT).

These committees will definitely keep me busy the next two years.

My office has moved and is now located at 521-E, and my new office phone number is 785-296-7473.
(I am humbled to occupy the office previously held by our late House GOP Assistant Majority Leader Rep. Les Mason -- a great family man, public servant, and mentor.)

I am truly honored my seat in the House Chamber will remain Floor Seat "42".

As always my email is [email protected].

Please feel free to contact my office via phone or email with any thoughts or concerns you have during Session.

And please reach out if you're in Topeka, I'd love to have a cup of coffee or show you around your Capitol!

Finally, I ask for your prayers for my family and wisdom as we begin this legislative Session.

We have an opportunity to make a lasting impact on our beloved State, and with your help we can make that opportunity a reality.

Let's get after it.

🇺🇲 Faith. Family. Service. 🇺🇲

On Oct. 3, 1863, during "the time of our Nation’s greatest division," President Abraham Lincoln issued the Thanksgiving Proclamation.

The President called for the American people to set aside their bitter divisions so that the blessings of liberty could be "solemnly, reverently, and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American people."

Lincoln urged all Americans to "fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty hand to heal the wounds of the nation, and to restore it, as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes, to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility, and union."

As we invoke this same spirit of unity, Talia, the kids and I hope you and your families celebrate both the peace and love God has shed abroad in our hearts, as well as His provision of health and fellowship this Happy Thanksgiving Day!
