As another school year comes to a close, we have been reflecting on everything that this community made possible through Project Teacher this year.

Together, we supported over 3800 educators impacting more than 75,000 students across 257 schools in 66 school districts. Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners, more than $2.4million in schools supplies and educational resources were distributed directly into classrooms where they were needed most – including 585,000 pencils, 35,000 books, and 31,000 backpacks.

This year also marked the launch of new programs that allowed us to care for educators in even deeper ways, including our Counselor Care Kits supporting school counselors and our SPARK (Supporting Public education Across Rural Kansas) initiative focued on strengthening support for rural Kansas schools and communities. While much (90%)of our work remains centered in Wichita-area schools, we are proud to see this mission continue reaching classrooms across Kansas.

Thank you for believing that when teachers are equipped, students thrive – and when students thrive communities grow stronger.

Today was one of those reminders that supporting educators doesn’t stop at city limits. While over 90% of Project Teacher’s work is focused on Wichita-area schools, initiatives like SPARK (Supporting Public Education Across Rural Kansas) are helping us continue expanding support to rural educators and communities across the state. Today’s deliveries took us through Herrington, Chapman, and Marion, with a short stop in Manhattan as we’re excited about some new partnerships taking shape there too.

No matter the zip code, educators deserve to feel supported and valued. Because at the end of the day, strong schools = strong communities, and investing in teachers is investing in the future of every town, city, and student we serve.

A huge thank you to the Kiwanis Club of Wichita for supporting Project Teacher through a recent grant benefiting our Core Classroom Kits initiative.

Because of this investment, more students in high-need classrooms across Wichita will have access to the basic school supplies they need to learn, participate, and succeed from day one. Something as simple as a pencil or notebook should never stand between a child and their education, and we’re grateful for partners like Kiwanis who believe every student deserves a strong start.

Strong schools = strong communities. Thank you for helping us support students and educators across Wichita.

We know the school year isn’t even over yet…but we’re already gearing up for something BIG!

Project Teacher is preparing for Ready, Set, Supply! Drive, largest school supply drive in the state of Kansas, and we’re inviting our community to help us make an even greater impact this year.

From workplace supply drives to financial sponsorships to volunteer opportunities, there are so many ways for businesses, organizations, churches, and community groups to get involved and support local classrooms.

Because when teachers and students start the year equipped, entire communities benefit.

If your business, organization, or group would like to participate, we would love to connect and help you find the best way to partner with us!

To every educator who opened their classroom door again this week and kept showing up for kids…thank you!!

As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate the people who keep our schools moving forward every single day.

Through distributions, giveaways, events, and partnerships this week, Project Teacher was able to distribute more than $350,000 in supplies to nearly 1,000 educators across our city and state. That means thousands of students will walk into classrooms better equipped to learn, create, and thrive.

But more than the numbers, this week was a reminder of something we already knew: teachers continue to carry so much with incredible compassion, creativity, and resilience. Supporting educators isn’t just something we celebrate one week a year…it’s work worth investing in year-round.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, partner, and supporter who helped make this week possible. And to every educator: we see you, we appreciate you, and we’re cheering you on long after this week ends.

WINNER HAS BEEN SELECTED! Congrats Stormi Irvin!

It’s Throwback Thursday…so today we’re throwing it back to one of the conversations that helped inspire the start of Project Teacher.

Years ago, after giving a teacher some classroom supplies and a gift card, she shared something we’ve never forgotten. She told us there were times she would sacrifice her own family’s grocery needs just to make sure her students had what they needed at school.

That conversation stuck with us. Because teachers go far beyond their job descriptions every single day. They show up for kids in ways most people never see.

So in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week (and teachers who give so much of themselves) we’re giving away a $250 grocery gift card to one lucky teacher. ❤️
