Follow the money.

A big thank you to Earl Glynn for putting these campaign finance numbers together.

Here are the facts:

✅ Vote YES expenditures: $3,689,425

❌ Vote NO expenditures: $8,428,688

That is a difference of $4.74 million.

The Vote NO campaign has also raised nearly three times as much money as the Vote YES campaign.

The same people warning that “special interests” will influence our courts are spending millions to keep the current system exactly as it is.

The money tells the story. Those benefiting from the current system are spending millions to make sure it never changes.

Vote YES. Put the decision where it belongs, with the people of Kansas.

While Supreme Court justices are not required to disclose who donates money to their private fundraising corporations, campaign finance laws do require anyone spending money for or against an issue to disclose where the money came from. Besides flyers put out by Planned Parenthood there are two "nonpartisan" groups with nearly identical names spearheading the vote no initiative.

Here are the big money donors to "Kansas United for Impartial Courts" and "Kansans United for Impartial Courts". Thus far the vote no side has spent nearly 3 times as much as the vote yes groups, with most of the no money coming from left leaning or out of state groups, while decrying out of state money in elections.

🤔 The irony is hard to ignore.

The same people chanting “No Kings” are spending millions telling Kansans they shouldn’t have the right to elect their own Supreme Court justices.

If concentrated power is the problem… why defend a system where a small, attorney-dominated commission decides who the public is allowed to choose from?

I trust the people of Kansas more than I trust a handful of insiders.

On August 4th, Kansans have the opportunity to decide who should hold that power: the people or the current system.

VOTE YES.

The Sumner County Republican Party carried our U.S. flag for the first time in the Wellington Wheat Festival parade July 10, 2026. Our friends at Cowley County Republican Party joined us. Joseph had his pickup decked out with U.S. flags, our party banner, and a huge cloth copy of the original Declaration of Independence. Paul and Martha brought their tractor, Steve brought his Corvette and Terry brought his Mustang. It was great fun and a beautiful day for a parade.

At our July 2, 2026, Sumner Republican meeting in Wellington, Republican candidates for county commission were asked a series of questions in a candidate forum.

For district 1, the candidates are Shane Klindt, Matt Lyons, and Michael Wellman.
For district 2, the candidates are Steve Richey and John Cooney - the incumbent.

Steve Richey appeared in person but the other candidates were unable to attend. Shane Klindt, Matt Lyons, and Michael Wellman provided written responses to the questions while Steve Richey answered in person.
The questions were provided in advance of the meeting:
1. Why do you want to be county commissioner and what are your qualifications?
2. Plans for the future.
Sumner county has been losing population and tax base.
What are some things that can be done to attract businesses, and bring more jobs and people while avoiding higher taxes?
3. Green energy.
Will you support new projects for industrial wind turbines, solar systems, BESS, data centers, and high voltage transmission lines?
What is your plan for the future?
4. Sheriff's office.
The sheriff has proposed increasing the number of federal prisoners in our jail at a profit in order to help balance the budget. Please discuss what should be done.
5. District Attorney.
It is said the DA is unable to prosecute many crimes in court due to insufficient funding. What would you propose be done?
6. RNR
What can be done in the future to avoid property tax increases?
Property tax increases exceed many Kansan's increase in personal income. How can they get relief?
7. Appraiser
Many property owners believe their property appraisals are too high or have been raised unfairly. Will you increase the budget of the appraisers office? What should be done?
