The Kansas Department on Aging and Disability Services needs to confirm individuals listed on the Statewide Home and Community Based Services Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities waiting list are still eligible and requesting services. You must return the document to the Sedgwick County Developmental Disability Organization in the enclosed envelope by June 26, 2026. If there is no response, your case will be closed and your name will be removed from the IDD/HCBS waiting list. Fill it out today!

Lake Afton is under a Blue-Green algae warning. This means there is a harmful algal bloom present making it unsafe to go in the water.

Here’s what you need to know:
- Avoid all contact with water.
- Lake water is not safe for humans OR animals.
- Signage should be posted at all public access locations.
- Do not let pets eat dried algae or drink contaminated water.
- Clean any fish you catch with potable water and only eat the fillet portion.
- If you come into contact with the contaminated water, make sure you rinse off with soap and clean water immediately.
