Over the past several months, the Oklahoma Marina Association has been working behind the scenes to help bring real conversations to the table regarding the future of Oklahoma lakes, recreation, tourism, and partnerships involving the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Many marina owners and operators across our state shared honest feedback through our recent industry survey. The message was clear: Oklahoma businesses are willing to invest, grow, improve facilities, and continue being strong environmental stewards, but clearer pathways and better collaboration are needed to make that possible.

We appreciate Attorney General Gentner Drummond and his office for taking the time to listen, ask questions, and continue conversations with Tulsa and Dallas district leadership and legislators regarding these important issues.

This isn’t about conflict. It’s about finding practical solutions that help Oklahoma lakes, rural communities, tourism, and small businesses continue to thrive for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who participated, shared feedback, and continues supporting the marina industry across Oklahoma.

🌊⚓ Big OMA Welcome! ⚓🌊

We’re excited to welcome Reliable Boat Dock Service and Alex Broat to the Oklahoma Marina Association family!

With 17 years in the marina industry and seven years as GM at Rough Hollow Yacht Club on Lake Travis, Alex brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and industry insight to our community. If you’ve been around marina conferences and expos, chances are you’ve already crossed paths! (And yes… he knows Sean Adair 😉)

Alex currently serves as a board member and Immediate Past President for MAT, and we’re especially excited about his eagerness to get involved here at OMA. That kind of passion and willingness to serve is exactly what strengthens our association and moves our industry forward.

We’re looking forward to seeing Alex this fall at the conference and we have a feeling he won’t stay “new” for long!

During OMA Day at the Capitol, the Oklahoma Marina Association met with Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s office to discuss the realities of operating marinas on Oklahoma lakes.

One thing was clear — real experiences from marina operators matter.

To help bring those perspectives forward, OMA has created a short confidential survey for marina owners and marine industry professionals.
