Yes, this just happened. You may have heard about this Veteran right here Mr. Sean Kidd (Red and Blue Jacket) of Buffalo, his house two weeks ago burnt down, losing EVERYTHING. Sean didn't know what to do, or where to turn. Really who would, right? We invited Sean in to meet with Kurtiss Driscoll reagrding his #100milierRace he does over the summer for WNYHeroes. Today Sean recieved a check on behalf of Kurtiss in the amount of $2,500.00 WNYHeroes also presented Sean with an additional check for $5,000.00 to help regain some of what they lost with hopes that maybe they see some light at #ChristmasTime Thank you Sean for your service! #AdoptAHero #CommunitySupport #PeertoPeer

Remember Cari? She is being housed with our friends at Niagara County Sheriff Office. Well, we broke her out of jail for awhile hahaha! She is now being introduced to the outside world, getting use to many different noises, fast moving objects and walking in and out of many different buildings. She is truly an amazing dog. If you see her out and about, remember, admire from afar as she has a job to do. #PawsitiveforHeroes #JailBreak #ServiceDog #PTSD #TBI #MST #SuicidalAwareness

Our #PawsitiveforHeroes program training in #HomeDepot. Our dogs work a lot off leash on distractions. Those distractions range from objects moving (slow/fast), loud unseen noises, crowds and more. We also work the dogs just as much on recalls. Thank you John Knop (Trainer) for everything you do for us and our program. #ServiceDogs #PTSD #TBI #MST #SuicidalAwareness #Veterans

Another great day training with the guys at the jail. Rick, the Buffalo Sabres pup is coming along GREAT, making awesome progress. He is comletely a different dog from when we first recieved him. When we go to the games, EVERYONE loves him and wants photos. How could you not, he is awesome. Now, Cari (Doberman) who was found walking the streets in Lancaster, she is TRULY going to make a #Veteran very very happy. She just wants to please and is turning into something very awesome. Maham and Bandit in the bottom left and center are having issues with one another, but getting there. Thank you to everyone with the Niagara County Sheriff for truly making this program possible with our #PawsitiveforHeroes #servicedog program. Thank you John Knoph for being a even bigger part of it all. Also, congratulations on your new certification, that’s HUGE (American Working Dog)
We are lining up Veterans to recieve these dogs soon and excited to watch the outcome and success. Thank you Donner Creek Veterinary Clinic for keeping our dogs healthy. Your support is nothing short of honorable. #PTSD #TBI #MST #SuicidalAwareness

Meet #USArmy Veteran Joe Morrow and his #servicedog Oliver. They are both still in training and coming along great. As you can see from the one photo, Oliver is training and learning how to block from behind. Another words, watch his Veterans 6 so Joe doesn not have to worry about people coming up from behind. Thank you Kaleigh Bell for being a part of our program.

Meet 7y/o David Heide (The Cookie Salesman) David wanted to do something different this year for Christmas. David asked his parents if he could sell cookies in front of their home with all the lights on. Well, we have to say, a salesman he is hahahaha! This sweet little guy raised $726.00 selling cookies, donating all proceeds to our office for our #AdoptAHero program.

When we asked him what made him choose WNYHeroes, he immediately responded with "Because you do so much for #Veterans in our community. I wanted to help give back" How sweet is that????? Thank you David for being our hero. Merry Christmas David WGRZ - Channel 2, Buffalo News 4 WIVB Buffalo 7 Eyewitness News WKBW

A huge thank you to this beautiful family from Puerto Rico who moved here in 2017 after the devastating hurricane Maria devastated the northeastern Caribbean in September 2017. After so much love and support was given to their family and they got back on their feet they wanted to give back. Thank you to this amazing family for supporting one of our local Veteran heroes so they can have a beautiful holiday and assistance during their time of need. After speaking to this family we even learned their sister and Aunt to the young man pictured spent several years in the Air Force! Welcome to the WNYHeroes Family! We also provided the post with a #donation of $2,000 to assist with other needs that they may have.

Jim (on the left and pictured on the right) and Tom (on the right with Jim) met when Jims and his wife moved back to Buffalo from Winston Salem NC in 2016 and found out they were Purple Heart neighbors across the street from each other.
Jim convinced Tom to join his Purple Heart Chapter, his American Legion Post and eventually last year to come out and help his fellow Veterans by volunteering at WNY Heroes. The two of them are a blessing to all Veterans in WNY and their love and support for each other shines! We are blessed to have you a part of our family! Thank you both for your service to our country and your continued service to your brothers and sisters! 🇺🇸

General information

It is the vision of WNYHeroes to create a centralized resource to meet the needs of veterans and their families through collaborations with partnering community organizations. Partner organizations will provide direct support or serve as bridge organizations for physical and mental health, financial, legal and workforce development opportunities, and they will either house corporate offices on-site or provide on-site satellite offices. WNYHeroes, Inc is truly the ONE STOP SHOP of WNY and continues to do so daily. Partnering organizations are: Buffalo Sabres Foundation, Keller Chevrolet, State Police, Cote Foundation, Wilson Foundation, Try-It Distributing and many more. A board comprised of the CEOs of the partnering organizations, community business leaders and local philanthropic foundations is currently on the board of WNYHeroes to make us bigger and better. To learn more about the issues facing U.S. veterans and WNYHeroes, see the Readers Digest article entitled "How Our Government is Failing Our Veterans" online at www.rd.com.

Thank you Chrusicki bakery and WNY Heroes for the cookies to decorate. We had a lot of fun decorating them. Will enjoy them tomorrow. Go Bills!!
Know a 30 year old vet, has 3 dogs and no license at this time, looking for a place to rent.. doesn't want to give up his dogs. living on his disability.. if you know anyone let me know.. Trailer ok but would need fenced in yard and internet available.. 1 bed good.
A month ago I would barely leave my house. Carrying on a tradition that led back to well before Quarantine. The fear of having an episode triggered or a panic attack really just made it to where my life revolved around never leaving a safe space that got smaller everyday. I will admit I was afraid to have a service dog. Being responsible for another living being. The thought of being spotted or known for things that are often out of my control. It has been the exact opposite! People notice Sully and it makes me feel as though all attention is off of me. After inpatient and 10 years of counseling I had learned alot of tools to cope, but until Sully I rarely had the opportunity or will to use them. Each part of my day is different for the better. Not only am I not alone, I have a more than willing companion. The past 30 days because of the routine and training I slept better, ate more appropriately, and have been more productive. It requires discipline on both parts. The dog needs a walk I probably do too. (Even in the December and January) I have Newly formed habits that I tried for years to implement alone to no avail. I'm not 100%. I have alot more work todo but this amazing white ball of fluff has mad the road less lonely, less stressful, more purposeful and all around easier. Thank you to Everyone at WNYHEROES! I hope you enjoy seeing our journey as much as I do living it. More to come. Off to a great start. Happier and healthier Vet. Overcoming all odds. can't tell me no. Hooah!
Thank you guys so much for the holiday help! It is really awesome knowing that people haven't given up on us veterans! A big shout out to those who donated their time and items! Thank you so much! From my Family to yours! Happy Holidays!!

Local marine corps veteran here. I have found myself desperately needing to get a tooth pulled. I am not disabled enough to get VA dental care as I am only at 70%. Anyone know of a dentist that is good and isn't gonna take me to the cleaners price wise to get this thing taken care of? Thanks in advance!
My wife Sarah R Miller is looking for some help
NaLa, a WNY Hero's, service dog and her Veteran took their first plane trip yesterday. It was a day full of firsts. First airport experience, first air planes, and first airport terminal transfer train. Thanks to her training NaLa did very well.
Thank you WNY Heroes for taking me into your #pawsitiveforheroes program, and for your never ending support.
Today we were burying my boyfriend's father. He was a Purple Heart recipient of Vietnam.
