I’m honored to share that I have received the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Northern California Action Fund.

This endorsement means a great deal to me. I believe healthcare decisions belong to individuals and their families, not politicians, and I will always stand for dignity, access, and respect for our communities.

I’m grateful for this support and proud to stand with those working to protect fundamental rights and expand access to care.

Thank you, Planned Parenthood Northern California Action Fund, for your trust and endorsement.

Thank you to Mendocino Local Public Media for hosting the candidate forum on March 26.

I appreciated the opportunity to join Eric Hart, Clay Romero, and Russell Green in a conversation about the challenges facing Mendocino County, from economic development and road funding to financial oversight and public safety.

What I bring to this conversation is a combination of lived experience and public service. As someone who has served in tribal leadership and worked for over a decade inside county government, including in public safety, I’ve seen how these systems impact people’s daily lives.

That perspective shapes how I approach this work: listening first, working across systems, and focusing on practical solutions that reflect our communities.

At the end of the day, leadership isn’t about talking — it’s about showing up, listening, and delivering results our communities can count on.

Together, we can take our seat at the table, raise our voices, and build a Mendocino County that works for all of us. Elect Buffey Bourassa Supervisor 2026.

Every year, our county budget decides how we fund roads, public safety, health services, and the programs our communities rely on. But it’s not just about numbers—it’s about priorities. It’s about what we choose to invest in and who we show up for.

Here are a few key takeaways I think everyone in District 3 should know:

• The budget reflects our values—not just dollars and cents

• Local decisions matter, but counties are also shaped by state and federal funding

• Counties have limited ability to raise revenue, which makes every decision count

• The process happens year-round—not just at one meeting

• And most importantly—there are real opportunities for community input

That last one is important.

This process isn’t meant to happen behind closed doors. It works best when people stay engaged, ask questions, and speak up about what matters in their communities.

As I’m out talking with folks across District 3, one thing is clear—we all want to see responsible decisions, transparency, and investments that actually make a difference in our daily lives.

We’re in this together—and your voice matters in shaping what comes next.

I attended the Mendocino College North County Center community mixer in Willits last night and the room was packed with generous people who care about our students and the future of North County.

The planned expansion of the campus is exciting and will bring classrooms supporting career pathways in Firefighting, EMT training, and lab sciences.

Last night we also raised money to support dual enrollment students—high school students earning college credits—as well as summer programs that help young people get ahead.

Opportunities like this make a real difference for local students and families.
