Serving up love and coffee on this chilly Monday morning.
To educate, equip, and empower the body of Christ to reach those in need with the hope of the Gospel through outreach and educational programs.
Serving up love and coffee on this chilly Monday morning.
Hope, and the vulnerability it brings, is what moves the heart.
Hope, and how it draws us together, draws us to God, means that not one of the moments of pain has been lost or forgotten.
Hope, is what we chose to cling to and use to press forward.
The only way to know and help our community is to truly see and hear our neighbors.
Spend time exploring the city.
Chat with your neighbors.
Listen to their stories.
Till December 21 Altar’d State in Mayfair will donate 10% of all proceeds from their sales every Monday.
So head over to their shop and grab a few pieces for Christmas, birthdays or just for yourself! But make sure you shop on Mondays!!
A life without community is simply not how God intended for us to live.
Monday’s are important. Not just because it’s the beginning of the week, but because we have an opportunity to see, hear and give love to our neighbors in small tangible ways.
Though our volunteer numbers are still small due to Covid, giving financially to our ministry is another very tangible and important way to serve.
Head to our site and give what you can. All amounts are important and can be used!
Connectivity. One of our goals is to truly connect with our neighbors, with our community. They only way to truly do that is through a steady movement in understanding and loving one another.
The shower trailer has become one of those areas where we can connect with our neighbors on a personal level. A simple way to say we see you, hear you and most importantly love you.
Encouraging our neighbors the beauty and importance of work is part of our mission.
When we use what God has given us, no matter that talent or gift, we are building up His kingdom here on earth.
Everyday is a another way for us to love and serve our city.
The foundation for Jesus has always been different than the world. He says that the way to become first is last; that in weakness comes strength and to face hatred is with love.

Jesus didn’t just show the women at the well how empty she was; He offered her abundance and fullness. (John 4 )
// To many times our friends are reminded how they are without; Their mistakes, their circumstances, are continually used as leverage to force change. Instead, our friends need to be told and shown there is a way for abundance and fullness.
In order for true change we need to stop fixing our eyes on our own resources but instead fix our eyes on all that Jesus offers.

Beautiful opportunities like this are possible through financial donations or through the support of @vigilanthoperoasting by purchasing our delicious coffee.
Our goal at Vigilant Hope has always been to remind our friends experiencing homelessness and poverty that they are valuable and loved.
Thank you to all who give so we can show love to our neighbors by providing dignifying work.

Our greatest example on how to love and serve one another, Jesus.

Before you do anything you should pray.
Pray for the intention
in serving others.
Pray for the direction to
whom and where you should serve.
Pray for clarification on how
and with what you give.
And pray for revelation, that others pain will spur on passion to love and serve as Jesus did.

Everyday is a opportunity to love our neighbor and love them well. Here are a few ways you can do just that!
One of the best ways to serve your city during this pandemic is by giving financially or through donated items needed.
Currently we are in need of backpacks , men’s underwear and water.
Drive through drop off is every Saturday 8-10 a.m at our office and outreach locations. (1626 Lake Branch Road)
Or head to our site to donate with a monetary gift of your choosing.
Thank you for partnering with us to serve our city and serve it well!!
“It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows.”
Galatians 5: 13-15 msg
Where others would have said no, these 8 said yes to spending their summer serving and loving our city, even in the midst of pandemic.
Their yes was to flexibility and growth.
Their yes was to being uncomfortable but confident.
Their yes was to good days and bad days.
Their yes was to listening and loving others.
Their yes could possibly be the courage another needs to say yes as well.
So here is to the summer 2020-where God used it all for good and to accomplish many things!
While we may have reached the end of our training in the Act Justly Movement, you are far from done. When you make the decision to love your neighbor intentionally you are taking on the responsibility to love them well. This means taking these steps we have walked you through regularly and with each area of action. We long to see the Body of Christ UNITED as we share His love with each person we encounter. And sometimes in order to do that we have to lay our own ideas aside through prayer, education, and action. Remember these things:
You do not have to be a part of a non-profit to start being intentional in reaching out to those in need.
Your neighbor is both literal and figurative
Remember the Biblical meaning of compassion (to be with someone's pain)
Each person you meet is created in the image of God
Thank you for taking this journey with us and we hope that you continue to watch these videos and repeat the steps often as you begin our own mission to Act Justly.
“The Kingdom of the Heavens
Is now advancing
Invade our hearts
Invade this broken town”
//T-shirt available online
There is a smile behind that mask!
//so very thankful for our volunteers and how they are committed to serve our city no matter the sacrifice.
Lets talk about tangible ways to 'Act Justly' and recap the last three weeks of challenges
You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 1:9-10 msg
Our friends over Rise Up Community Farm are an great way to be Empowered to help our friends that face hunger issues! Check them out to order some fresh fruits and veggies! #actjustlymvmt
If you have followed with us through the Act Justly Movement you have taken the following steps: Prayer and asking the Lord for guidance on who your neighbors are, and education as you learn what real challenges people face day-to-day. Now lets take the third step and Act Justly with our new found compassion and education.
This weekend, take time and reflect how the Lord has hopefully opened your heart and eyes to the people around you.
