As the first secret society created for college women, Alpha Delta Pi has grown to become an amazing 160-year-old tradition of excellence. The Eta Alpha chapter was installed at University of North Carolina Wilmington on February 12th 1984. Because we were founded so close to Valentine’s Day, we are known as the “sweetheart chapter”. We strive to be the best versions of ourselves by following the 4 points of our diamond badge: Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service, and Self.
SISTERHOOD: Our chapter holds many sisterhood bonding events such as our sisterhood retreat in the fall and spring. We also have sisterhood events such as laser tag, 80’s roller skating, visiting a trampoline park, dinner dates, movie nights, bachelor watch parties, and much more! Being involved with other greek life is also a priority of ours. We have monthly sisterhood events with our sister sororities and do events like yoga and game night.
SCHOLARSHIP: Alpha Delta Pi at UNCW is know for our high values of academics. We have many girls in our chapter on the dean’s list. Our chapter also sets a minimum requirement for GPA to help hold our sisters accountable with their academics. A lot of sisters study together in the library and our scholarship chairs regularly rent out study rooms in the library for us. We have received the award for the highest panhellenic GPA for almost 3 years in a row, most recently receiving the award for Spring of 2019.
SERVICE: Alpha Delta Pi nationally supports the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The girls of ADPi at UNCW hold a Low Country Boil annually in the fall to raise money for RMHC. We hold other philanthropy events such as Pie a Pi and Stacks on Stacks to also raise money for RMHC. During our sisterhood retreat we make baskets with items off of the RMH donation list. We bring these baskets to the Ronald McDonald House in Greenville, NC during our volunteer visits. Outside of RMH, a lot of our sisters spend their Saturday mornings volunteering at Wilmington’s Miracle League. We also love attending and supporting all of the other greek life philanthropy events that benefit other causes.
