Hi, everybody! We have gotten a lot of questions about when pictures from the Dub Awards will be out, and they should be public sometime next week. Flicker has been working hard on making sure all the photos look great. Thank you all for waiting!
Congratulations to our Employee of the Week, Brea Perry! Brea is a junior majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in Journalism. Her dream career is simply anything that will allow her to travel all around the world while writing about the things she’s passionate about, which include social justice, inclusion and diversity, and the intersections of Christianity and culture. When Brea is not performing her role as an Involvement Specialist in CAIC, you can find her in a variety of places on campus. She leads a freshmen women’s community group with Cru, a Christian organization on campus and the largest international missions organization in the world. At the beginning of this semester, she became the vice president of a new student organization called the Creative Arts Club. She also runs two personal blogs, one on her own called teafortruthbybrea.wordpress.com, and a joint one with one of her friends at against-thegrain.org. Fun fact about Brea: She’s a Disney and Marvel comics enthusiast and she collects unique coloring books and comic books in different languages.
Interested in joining a service organization? Come by Warwick today from 1-3pm! You will be able to meet organizations leaders, learn about their mission, and participate in a service project on-site!
Congrats to our employee of the week, Kelly! She is a Sophomore majoring in Anthropology and History with a minor in Spanish. She is involved at UNCW as a member of the Honors College, Student Ambassadors, Anthropology Club and the Club Field Hockey team. Her free time is spent eating at all of Wilmington’s wonderful restaurants, reading outside in the pine forests around the school, or at the hockey games on the weekends. After graduation, she hopes to become an archaeologist and public historian focusing on early American history.
Ever want to try your hand at Fencing, Rugby, Ice Skating or Field Hockey? Join us for Iceless Hockey and the Sports and Rec Involvement Fair TOMORROW from 6-11pm! Details can be found on Wavelink. See you there!
Congrats to our two Employees of the Week, Amy Williams and Morgan Edwards! Amy is a junior currently majoring in Political Science. When she graduates, she intends to pursue medical school to become a pediatrician and receive her Juris doctorate as well. On campus, Amy is a part of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and she is Vice President of Chi Omega sorority. Morgan is a French and Film Studies double major. She is a part of French Club where she learns about different French speaking countries and participates in conversation sessions to increase her fluency. In Flicker Film Society, she helps plan the Reel Teal Film Festival and judges films for the event.
Congratulations to our employee of the week, Lauren Calhoun! Lauren is an Environmental Science major with a minor in German. This past winter break, Lauren spent time in Belize conducting research on seagrass trends. Lauren serves as the president of the Beekeeping Club and recently started a new German Club on campus.
Congrats to our Employee of the Week, Dri!
Dri is a Sophomore majoring in Digital Arts and minoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovations. She is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, and although she misses the mountains, she has loved learning about everything Wilmington has to offer, especially the beach and Pelican’s Snoballs! While at UNCW, she has studied abroad in Maynooth, Ireland and been involved as an Involvement Specialist at CAIC, a Peer Educator for CARE, and works on the Seahawk Link Leadership Counsel in the Office of Transition Programs.
Congratulations to our employee of the week, Lily! She is a Sophomore studying Communication Studies with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In addition, she is a member of UNCW’s Alpha Gamma Delta Chapter. Lily hopes to work in either Public Relations for the music industry or start her own sustainable business.
