Be sure to mark your calendar for the next installment of Salem Voices, this Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. and hear the story of Anne Nelson Stokley, C'77.
Anne pursued a career in public health that is timely in terms of where the world finds itself today—in the midst of a global pandemic. Her career was in pharmaceutical Research and Development with the company now known as GlaxoSmithKline, but in three distinct phases, and with two major mergers.
She began in clinical research of antibiotics and treatments for HIV disease and moved to Regulatory Affairs where she led study teams to prepare applications for new drugs and negotiated approvals with the FDA. Her final role with the company was as Global Quality and Governance Officer.
In this episode, Anne also discusses the process for developing the COVID-19 vaccine as well as her own personal participation in a COVID-19 vaccine trial since this past July.
