Hello Amazing alumni TF!!!! I have an idea, and I want to see if any of my high school people are interested!!! I would like to write a book about effective teaching methods that you all use ACROSS content areas that focus on literacy!! The book would have chapters dedicated to content areas. If you have any amazingly effective lessons you use to increase content literacy/literacy in any format that you are willing to share, I would love to have them! I will also make sure you are sited in the book! Please email if you are interested!

The Office of Student Engagement and Recruitment has created a new website to promote volunteer opportunities in the community and employment opportunities for teachers. The website serves as a bulletin board, linking students and alumni to opportunities on campus and in local community agencies and schools.

Dear Alumni and Current Teaching Fellows:

As we are all aware, the NC Teaching Fellows are phasing out, and the last UNCW Teaching Fellows class will graduate 2015. The UNCW Teaching Fellows have made considerable contributions to the UNCW campus and Wilmington community, and I do not want this program to phase out without the Fellows leaving a “footprint”. I am currently working with the UNCW Art Department to have a sculpture created as a memorial for our program. The memorial will signify the years the NC Teaching Fellows have been at UNCW (1987-2015) along with a moving quote about our program.

This being said, I need your help to make this a reality as I do not have the funds to provide the materials needed for the project nor do I have quote that encapsulates the program. I am asking each alumni and current Fellows to donate at least $5.00 to this footprint. If you are willing to donate, please send a check to:
