Good morning, an updated DSS Packet is attached regarding the dangerous heat and humidity and severe weather potential over the next few days.

* A Heat Advisory has been expanded across the entire area and is valid from this afternoon through Wednesday evening. Heat index values around 100 are expected both days.

* Dangerous heat and humidity may persist into Thursday and Friday, particularly south of US Route 30.

* There is a Marginal Risk of severe storms (level 1 of 5) both today (1 to 7 PM EDT), and again Wednesday late afternoon through the evening. Isolated damaging winds to 60 mph and isolated hail are the main threats, but confidence in isolated severe weather remains low.

Indiana 211 is accepting damage reports for the counties mapped below.

To help establish a comprehensive assessment of damage, residents can call 866-211-9966 or visit the Indiana 211 website (on.in.gov/IN-211).

Collecting assessments via this process will help IDHS determine damage estimates and develop the next course of action in the disaster recovery process. 211 can also help residents connect to local resources to aid in response and recovery.

All agriculture damages should be reported to the local USDA Farm Service Agency. To locate the appropriate contact, individuals can use the USDA locator tool (www.farmers.gov/working-with-us/service-center-locator).

Mobile Registration Intake Centers (MRICs) are now open. Indiana disaster survivors will be able to meet directly with state, county and FEMA teams at multiple MRIC locations. Representatives at these centers will provide in-person assistance, answer questions and help homeowners and renters apply for FEMA’s Individual Assistance program.

Applicants should bring their social security card and insurance, damage, financial, contact and direct deposit information.
