We received a sweet surprise—a heartfelt thank you letter from a wonderful group of 4th graders after the Mayor visited to read with them during Read Across America Week! 📚❤️

Students took the time to sign their name, making it even more special. Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to connect with our students and support a love of reading.

Participants gained valuable insight into identifying funding opportunities, crafting competitive applications, and building stronger proposals that benefit our communities. Investing in these skills helps ensure Franklin County continues to grow and thrive through strategic partnerships and resources.

Thank you to Chelle Daniels and Dave Capka for leading and also to everyone who attended and contributed to making today’s workshop a success!

Mayor Chris Guess recently had the pleasure of spending time with some of our youngest learners while reading to students at Head Start. 📚

Sharing a love of reading at an early age is so important, and it was a joy to see the excitement and curiosity on the students’ faces as they followed along with the story. Moments like these remind us how important it is to support and encourage education from the very beginning.

Thank you to the teachers and staff at Head Start for the great work you do every day helping prepare our children for a bright future! 🌟

Mayor Chris Guess had a great time visiting the 4th and 5th graders at North Lake Elementary this week! 📚

He read Sophia Valdez, Future Prez by Andrea Beaty — a fun and inspiring story about using your voice, standing up for others, and making a difference in your community.

After the story, Mayor Guess talked with students about how our local, state, and federal government works and how everyday citizens can be involved. The students asked thoughtful questions and showed a real interest in leadership and civic responsibility.

It’s always encouraging to see young leaders in the making right here in Franklin County! 👏
