Being a trucker isn't sitting on your butt and driving all day. It's dealing with moody shippers and receivers,dispatch,and traffic.dealing with absolute stupidity and anger on the roads from regular drivers and other truckers. It's losing loads and being late for reasons beyond your control(most of the time). It's dealing with cameras inside and outside of your truck and supposed safety features that actually make your job more difficult in most cases. It's being away from home days, weeks, months at a time and dealing with the fights and relationship losses over the job you chose. It's praying that this week will be a good one because the last few haven't been because freight is slow or prices bottomed out. It's not being home to help with your children or going to their events or seeing milestones happen with them as they grow. All the while trying to keep the little bit of sanity that we have left to do our job to the best of our ability and not run your dumb ass off the road. You don't get to just take a day off when your job is to leave for a minimum of a week. Trucking isn't a job, it isn't a career, it's a lifestyle and everything we do revolves around it. So I say, Quit being a @ #**er and thank a trucker!
