OK, Owl 5 is strugling. Mindy found him again on the ground this morning. She tried to feed it- No good, he is looking weak. Owl 5 was delivered to the licensed 'For the Birds of Indiana' in Westfield. Hope all goes well.

Owl 5 sitting on ground. The runt is not keeping up, so we lifted him up the tree for the night.

This may be the last view. They have not gone back into the nest but after the winds of a nearby storm, they gathered by the tree they were born in. Books say Screech Owls are very territorial, so the babies will have to fly off to find their area.

2011/5/21 8:47pm All have Left the nest. At 10:45 still empty nest!

I think our babies have left. We were all gone yesterday and today and looking tonight, no babies. We are rewinding to see what happened. Today around 7 pm we saw 2 babies (looked like the only one in the tree) crawl up the tree out of view. I thought we would see them just fly out, and then come back for a few days. Did they really just up and leave us without goodbye. Sad, Mindy Lesley Kirchner

Wed night was awsome. Mindy and I watched from out bathroom window for an hour. Mom and dad would drop in. The babies would climb the nest hole and climb over each other for the top spot. Baby number 5 is half the size and still cannot fight for top feeding. Got some great pics to load on thursday.
