“My Navajo heritage and community understanding are vital assets,” he said. “I am committed to leading with honor to ensure a safer future for our people.”

Henderson’s appointment marks a significant step forward, aiming to address emerging challenges with culturally informed and innovative solutions.

Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren said that Mr. Henderson represents a new era of public safety, especially with the implementation of the Tribal Community Response Plan.

“Congratulations to Mr. Henderson on his appointment as the new director for the Navajo Division of Public Safety,” President Nygren said. “He has extensive experience with his skills of being an officer with Navajo Police and in the military.
