Recently our new community park on Randolph Street has been subject to a number of acts of vandalism. In only the past month, a port-a-john has been set on fire with fireworks, and the port-a-johns have been improperly used and littered in. Playground equipment, benches, picnic tables, and lighting fixtures have also all been damaged. It is sad and disappointing that this park that the community has waited so long for has seen this much damage, after only being open for one year. The park is for everyone and we would like to keep it nice, and continue make expansions on it for generations to enjoy. This will be impossible to do if people cannot be respectful of this public area and take responsibility for their or their children’s actions. This park is intended to be used with adult supervision. Please call 911 immediately if you witness any acts of vandalism occurring, and help us take care of this park. This is your park. It was built for you. Please treat it as such. Thank you.

So far today we have received two reports from residents stating that they received suspicious phone calls. In each of these calls residents were advised that their social security number was used in the commission of a fraud in another state and that a warrant has been issued for their arrest. The caller goes on to demand bank account information, credit card information, or pre-paid gift cards in order to satisfy the bail amount listed on the arrest warrant. Legitimate law enforcement will never demand pre-paid gift cards or your banking or credit card information in order to avoid arrest.
