Congratulations to 'The Librarians' on the well-deserved Emmy win for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking!

'The Librarians' is a powerful documentary that follows public and school librarians as they unite to combat book banning and defend intellectual freedom on democracy's front lines amid unprecedented censorship in Texas, Florida, and beyond.

Thank you to filmmaker Kim Snyder and all the courageous librarians and advocates who shared their stories to help shine a light on the fight for the freedom to read.

The Town of Winthrop is updating its 26-year-old Downtown Revitalization Plan and wants to hear from you! A short community survey is now available to gather input on what people love about downtown Winthrop, what could be improved, and what they would like to see in the next 10 to 15 years. Survey responses will help shape priorities and recommendations for the updated plan. The survey takes just a few minutes to complete and is available online by visiting: https://tinyurl.com/downtownwinthrop. Paper copies are also available at the Town Office and Bailey Library. Please submit your response by Wednesday, September 30, and help shape the future of downtown Winthrop!

I had the pleasure of meeting with Senator Craig Hickman today to talk one-on-one about our new historical mural and the stories and people represented in it. Senator Hickman is one of only a few living figures featured in the mural, and it was wonderful to have the opportunity to show him the finished piece and talk about his place in Winthrop’s continuing history!
