No matter who you ultimately vote for, get out and vote! Polls close at 8:00 P.M. CST.

Today is the general election! In person voting takes place at City Hall - 305 N Main St (second floor). If you can't remember if you're registered to vote, you can check your registration information here: https://mnvotes.sos.state.mn.us/VoterStatus.aspx. This will also list your voting place if you live outside of Winthrop.

Voting begins at 7am and ends at 8pm. See you at the polls!

Thank you to the Winthrop General Federation of Women Club and City of Winthrop Minnesota for hosting the local candidate forum last evening. It was great meeting with and talking to everyone I did, whether directly before or after the event, or as a part of the forum when speaking directly to the public.

Hello friends and neighbors! My name is Nathan Loewy, and I am running for a seat on the GFW #2365 school board.

A little about me - my wife and I have owned our home in Winthrop for over 9 years. We have 3 children who all attend GFW - 6th grade, 4th grade, and pre-K. My professional background includes upper retail management, to include opening and managing the Winthrop Dollar General for 2.5 years, while my volunteering background includes multiple avenues of advocating for, in part, children's rights.

If you have any relevant questions for me, I would love to have the opportunity to answer them, as I believe transparency is necessary for any elected official. I believe all youth deserve the best all-around education possible, and I'm running because I believe in our children and their future!

After many conversations with my family, and much thought and consideration, I have decided to file my affidavit of candidacy to run for a seat on the GFW #2365 school board! Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks, but for now, be sure to mark down Election Day (November 8) on your calendars as a reminder to get out and vote!

I would like to take a moment to thank each and every person who supported me for GFW school board. The turnout was tremendous, and I appreciate each and every one of you! The election results aren't official at this point, but with the current margin between myself and Drew Schmidt, it is all but impossible for a different winner to be declared. While this is not the outcome I had hoped for, I wish Drew the best of luck as the next GFW school board representative from Winthrop, and I look forward to everything he will bring to our school district, for now and for the future! Go Thunderbirds!!!

Tomorrow is Election Day! Please remember to flip over your ballot to vote for school board candidates for the four open seats. You can vote for all four positions regardless of which town you reside in. Your vote and voice both matter, and if I'm voted in, I'll ensure your voice is heard as the next GFW School Board representative!
