🚨 A Long-Awaited Achievement — Congratulations Re*****on! 🚨
I know it’s a little overdue, but you can’t make the post without the certificate in hand… and now it’s finally here!
Please join us in congratulating Re*****on Karbowski on successfully completing the National Fire Academy (NFA) 2-Day Incident Safety Officer Course back in February. Due to the federal government shutdown, the official certificate was delayed—but well worth the wait!
With this achievement, Re*****on has been assigned additional duty as one of our Incident Safety Officers (ISO) and will also serve as a member of our Occupational Safety and Health Committee, helping strengthen our department’s overall safety program.
🔥 What is an Incident Safety Officer?
An Incident Safety Officer plays a critical role on the fireground and at emergency scenes. Their primary responsibility is to monitor conditions, identify hazards, and ensure the safety of all personnel operating at an incident. The ISO has the authority to correct unsafe actions and, if necessary, stop operations that present imminent danger.
đź“‹ Why it matters:
Under Wisconsin Administrative Code SPS 330, fire departments are required to maintain a structured safety program that includes risk management and on-scene safety oversight. The Incident Safety Officer is a key part of meeting these requirements and ensuring that everyone goes home safely after every call.
👏 Thank you, Re*****on, for your continued commitment to training, safety, and service. Your dedication makes our department—and our community—stronger and safer.
