This Memorial Day, TEAM KIRBY pauses to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer or a long weekend. It is a solemn reminder that freedom is not free. Across this nation, families carry the weight of empty chairs at the table because someone they loved answered the call to serve something greater than themselves.

Law enforcement professionals, have always understood the meaning of service, sacrifice, and duty. Those values are shared by the men and women of our armed forces who stood willing to protect this country at all costs. Today we remember those heroes and we honor the legacy they left behind.

I also ask everyone to take a moment to remember the families of the fallen. Their sacrifice continues long after the final salute.

On behalf of TEAM KIRBY, thank you to all who have served, and may we never forget those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Being a candidate for sheriff is about far more than how many signs you can put up. It’s about showing up, listening, and building real connections within our community.

This week, TEAM KIRBY was proud to take part in the 60th Anniversary celebration of our local Community Action organization, which has spent decades helping low-income families throughout Sauk County and surrounding communities. We also attended the Sauk County Towns Association meeting, where local leaders came together to discuss the issues that matter most to our towns and residents.

Hearts are heavy for our son, Rock County Deputy Cody after the loss of his longtime K9 partner. Rest in peace, and thank you for your loyal service and sacrifice.

Retired K9 Kamo passed away on the afternoon of May 15, 2026, surrounded by his handler, Deputy Cody St. Michael, family, and fellow law enforcement personnel. K9 Kamo served the Rock County Sheriff's Office with distinction from November 2019 to November 2025. We extend our deepest condolences to the St. Michael family at this difficult time. RIP Kamo.🐾

During National Police Week, we pause to recognize and honor the men and women of law enforcement who serve their communities with courage, professionalism, and sacrifice.

We especially remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and the families who continue to carry that loss every day. Their service and commitment will never be forgotten.

As a candidate for Sauk County Sheriff, I remain committed to supporting the deputies, officers, dispatchers, correctional staff, and all first responders who dedicate themselves to protecting others.
