Our station was called out again in this heat.. Don’t forget to always keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to serve our community at all costs.
And also don’t forget to help keep them hydrated during these brutal temperatures. Water, Gatorade, any electrolyte drinks can always be dropped off for them. If you’d like to make a monetary donation just swing by during office hours, M-F 8-4.

We’ve had some donations made today by Rick West, Jess Henry, and others. It is very much appreciated. The city hall will take donations weekdays 8-4 and if you need to leave any other times, we can have someone meet you down there. 💜

🔥ACCEPTING DONATIONS AT WISTER🔥

We are accepting donations for our fire dept at the city hall every weekday from 8-4. You can always reach out and we will have someone meet you at the fire station if you can’t make it during the weekdays.

LeFlore County is in the middle of fire season, and with these extreme summer temperatures, our volunteer and rural firefighters are working long, exhausting hours in some of the hottest and most dangerous conditions imaginable.

These men and women leave their families, jobs, and homes to answer the call when our communities need them most. They spend hours fighting fires, often wearing heavy protective gear in temperatures that are already dangerously hot. Hydration isn't a luxury—it’s a necessity.

We are asking our community to come together and help provide Gatorade and electrolyte drinks for our LeFlore County Rural Fire Departments. ❤️

Every case, every bottle, and every donation matters.

Let's take care of the people who are always willing to take care of us. 🚒❤️

LeFlore County, let's show our firefighters how much we appreciate them! You can bring donations for all rural fire depts to 1215 S Broadway in Poteau @ EMS OF LEFLORE COUNTY STATION.

Heat index values up to 110 expected Thursday afternoon. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Heat related illnesses are possible especially impacting those not acclimated to the conditions or those performing strenuous activities.
